Photo/Courtesy Two people died and four others were seriously injured after a school bus collided with a trailer at a bridge on Kuja river in Migori county on Saturday night. One person died on the spot while another succumbed to injuries while being rushed to hospital. It is reported that the driver lost control of the bus after the brakes failed due to heavy rains experienced in the area on Saturday night. The vehicle involved in the accident belongs to Mukuyu secondary school and had been hired by members of Seventh Day Adventist church. Area OCPD Jonathan Muganda said: "One person died on the spot while four others were rushed to various hospitals in Rongo and Migori serious injuries," Muganda said. Muganda said 29 others got minor injuries while 14 escaped without any injuries. The incident caused a traffic snarl up on the Migori-Kisii highway. "Officers were on the ground to clear the traffic that built on both sides of the road," Muganda said. Story updated.
